Plumbing which deals with installation of cold , hot supplies to a homestead, factories or any other place of work and the drainage of such a premise is a trade that needs to be taken care of in Uganda. We always watch and feel the drainage in our capital City Kampala is not very well  made. Originally it served its purpose but has found challenges with the increased number of users and more inconvenience from the settlements there upon the sewers.

Many a times we find the net works skills men planning their Ethernet cables among others but we don't see the sewage network improved. we needed this planning before we get higher with our hygiene in the city because sewage spillages  and blockages are so dangerous be it the foul gas and the effluent it self.

We appreciated there are many septic tanks in the city because the plots are not inline or planned to be so on the sewer lines however this keeps our sanitation standards low. May be, regardless of whoever could be at it right from parliament to divisions in our city, we need to quicken what ever plans what so ever, may it be privatized what ever name we may use to make the systems in place. See! many modern building are taking off but we need to remember that the sewage lines need to flow by gravity as much as possible or less we will find it pretty hard to displace people or use motorized systems to negotiate corners created by inadequate planning.

Our plumbing craftsmen and women would learn to plan such but find it hard because the instructors still talk about plumbing codes, drainage rules, public health acts of foreign countries, so much that even public drainage management sewer line connections, our Ugandan public health is still taught theory. I will need to be guided whether the concerned sector has disseminated these codes, the public health act for Uganda, and if they exist any way to technical  and vocational institutions, and to the general public because this is the responsibility of the end user as well.

let us keep Kampala Clean and in all other districts where our national authority in charge of Water and sewage management has not established. for instance Rukungiri district ( are the challenges so chronicle that they can not get treated water permanent system?- a permanent water source is needed!  if we need to pump from lake Edward  then that will be a national project and even when finished will provide a research reference to students of diploma, bachelor and masters degrees in  civil, water, mechanical and automobile courses.

Some one Look! if you went to buy charcoal of 2000shs and found that your carry bag is small you will take only for 1000 but while cooking beans you will get back to the seller for more charcoal only to find your beans taken up by too much fire because of no attendance since  you left for another charcoal.
similarly sound development is only when the planning becomes an expensive and long term venture. Save for Reynolds construction company for their commendable job on roads- experience is your attribute.
