Conventional plumbing systems like
galvanized iron are associated with many problems such as corrosion, bulkiness,
high installation costs, chemical reactivity and short life span. Most
important, due to corrosion, harmful substances such as zinc oxide mix with the
water and cause a health hazard.
Poly polypropylene (PPR pipe) are the
recent innovation in the plumbing industry.
It can withstand both hot and cold
temperatures of the fluids. This is emphasized on proper selection of grade.
Some grades like PN6 are designed to convey cold water only.
It has a very good resistance to
chemical corrosion, a low thermal conductivity; thereby the overall operational
cost is reduced.
PPR pipe does not have any negative
biological effects and henceforth more hygienic.
Care must be taken while jointing to
avoid burning ones hands and feet.
- 1. Always wear protective gloves and safety shoes.
- 2. Do not throw the machine down it will become faulty.
- 3. Confirm that the machine if off before connecting to the power socket.
- Make sure the socket is earthed to avoid shock.
